Gardiner Opticians introduced Optix 6 months ago, having used paper for virtually everything before - we had more filing cabinets than anything else in the practice.
After a few weeks of entering our product catalogues into the system, we moved over to Optix overnight. All our systems were running Read more on Optix - clinical records, dispensing, recall letters, the till, product catalogues and ordering. It was a tough week or two adapting our whole way of working, but within a few weeks everyone was beginning to appreciate the benefits it could bring.
The support and training involved in moving from systems where virtually everything was done on paper to a completely computerised system in a matter of weeks was enormous. Optix support has been excellent all along. We can now access business information in seconds that previously took hours of painstaking analysis of paper records. We can finally start thinking about moving out some of those filing cabinets. I can’t imagine how we managed without it for so long!

We have been delighted with the performance of the Optix system. It does what it says on the tin. It is a business system which has a few operating quirks which are all on the Optix wish list for future fixes. The support team are excellent when called upon even for some small simple problems.

I have always found the support exceptional ... there is always someone to help at the end of the phone with an immediate response ( unlike other providers) even though the user base has grown enormously.

Optix has provided us with a comprehensive, stable system that fits together in such a way that we have felt able to embrace most areas that the system has to offer us - diary, patient records, paperless testing, recall, till management, reporting, dispensing, stock control and order management. Our staff found it quite organic to use so it slotted into our patient journey easily - including pre screening diary management for multiple Optoms. Where we have needed support, Optix staff have been available quickly, been very patient with us, and remained solution focussed no matter how challenging our requests may have been!
Trevor and his team have always been very amenable to new ideas, but without making false promises that have either not been delivered or been unreliable in their execution.
It is a true reflection of the engagement of the Company that Optix provide an unmoderated forum for users, where we can share best practice and ideas, as well as openly discuss changes that we feel would be of benefit.
I would certainly encourage potential customers to look at Optix - no system can be perfect for everyone but this is certainly the best fit for us.
