Miltons Eyecare was one of the first practices to make use of Optix Software. Over the last 10 to 12 years Optix has made huge advances in the Optometric Soft Wear field to what I believe is today the Industry Standard. The company never stands still. It listens to the needs of its customers which Read more in itself drives progress.
Support is great. Optix is vast. One can make use of the different modules to suit individual practice needs. I am sure the BI Module is the most advanced of any contemporary program available.
Although we ourselves do not use Optix in it’s full capacity I can only say that we have been totally happy with the service received and hence have never felt the need to move away.

Having used four different software systems over several years working for other practices I had a fair idea what I wanted and did not want for my new practice. I had a list of my needs and what I wanted from a computer system. Something that I did not have to add expensive modules on to when I Read more decided I needed them or could afford them but a management system that would do everything I wanted to from the start. A computer system that helped me make sense of the information I was gathering and that did not make my life difficult. A company that respected me as a user and did not patronise me as if I did not know what I was talking about.
I did all the research and there was no contest, Optix definitely ticked the most boxes by a long way. - it was the clear winner and in the end the obvious and natural choice. Everyone gets the whole system for one price and it is regularly upgraded with input to developments and improvements from the users. It is an intuitive system and having trained staff on other software that I realised was particularly valuable. The learning curve is eased by the subtle familiarity of the screen layout.
BI - so much useful information that we are learning how to make work for us as we explore it further. Reports we think we need, did not realise we needed and may one day need.
Support - I cannot say enough in praise of the support team. The best thing is we do not have to phone them too often as problems are not a big feature of our weekly routine. We are reassured, however, that they are always there and so when we do stupid things, or even if the computer does it, they are gracious and helpful and get it sorted.
For those who like computers there is lots to explore, for those who see them as a necessary evil there is a simpler functionality that will appeal.
You are supposed to learn something new every day and Optix continues to teach us daily so we can gradually aspire to exploiting its full potential, which is immense.

I have never regretted changing to the Optix system. Compared to our previous system our staff find it both intuitive and easy to use and what is even more impressive is how Trevor and his team work constantly to improve their product and listen to feedback from their customers to do so. The Read more support team are excellent and always on hand to sort out any queries quickly and efficiently and the Business Intelligence module provides us with an in depth analysis of our business in an easy to understand way. All in all a great product.

After receiving many recommendations from both industry and fellow professionals we felt we needed to, at the very least, look at Optix for our future practice needs. We needed a system that provided us with better information to manage the business side of the practice, as well as make a Read more streamlined method to manage clinical records as well as ordering to each of our suppliers. Optix does all of these (and more). The initial training was excellent-and were re-assured that to phone support for queries was not a problem and would be expected. This support has been friendly and most helpful and we feel that together we are always trying to improve our use of the software. I had always been very sceptical in software development that what is promised takes either forever to materialise or never comes as described-but with Optix we feel we are seeing all of the promised changes, and have been given time frames for other new pieces to come in later. It is a forever changing world and we feel Optix knows the needs that we face.
The Optix forum has proved a valuable meeting place for fellow, like minded, professionals and created a ‘family’ feeling as we all look to help each other to improve our practices and business ideas. An excellent forum that will keep as working with other independents and create bonds and friendships that will prove invaluable. Well done Trevor and the team.

We came to Optix from IRIS, the whole transfer process was smooth and cause surprisingly few worries. The system works very well, is stable and the knowledge that all of our data is safe and off site is invaluable when environment agency tell us that we are about to flood again!
The software is Read more very intuitive as shown by how little we have to use support, but when we do it's great that everyone knows your name, the practice and is enthusiastic and informative.
I would thoroughly recommend Optix especially if you are starting out in IT integration as the team are so helpful and the initial outlay is modest and transparent - there really are no hidden extras.

We have been delighted with the performance of the Optix system. It does what it says on the tin. It is a business system which has a few operating quirks which are all on the Optix wish list for future fixes. It is a reliable system giving good recall and details for marketing and patient contact. Read more The Direct Debit facility is flexible allowing collections for both spectacles and contact lenses.
The support team are excellent when called upon even for some small simple problems.
We looked long and hard before changing our old system and haven't been disappointed by the choice we made.

We spent time researching the market for a replacement for our practice management system, our research quickly established Optix as the strongest candidate and discussions with users and the Optix team confirmed our decision to adopt Optix for our 19 practices.
Throughout our initial Read more deliberations, Trevor was very straight and supportive and once confirmed, the installation and training programme was completed, as promised and on schedule. A big help in this was our decision for Optix to supply all of the hardware and software for the installation and resulted in only one point of contact for any questions or problems. The Support team have provided an invaluable service following installation, reinforcing the initial training and answering the many questions that arise with the use of a new system.
We are now entering our fifth month as users and whilst we still have a lot to learn, both about using the general system and the information provided by the Business Intelligence resource; we can only ask why didn’t we do this earlier.
